The workshop

This relocation underscores our ongoing commitment to investing in facilities that ensure the utmost quality experience for both you and your vehicle.

Between 2006 and 2023, Absolute VW operated from its premises in Castle Donnington. Since 2023, the business has transitioned to its newly refurbished and fully equipped bespoke workshop spanning 2,500 square metres, situated in Shardlow, Derbyshire.

It took Absolute VW six years to source the ideal location within the triangle formed by Leicester, Nottingham, and Derby.  This East Midland area aligns with the core client base that has been developed since 2006.  Additionally, the location offers excellent access to the A50 and M1 motorways, and it is adjacent to East Midlands Airport, making Absolute VW easily accessible from any part of the country or from abroad.

The garage previously functioned as a vehicle dealership and fuel station, and had not undergone any development until Absolute VW acquired it.  The facility offers ample space to accommodate a large number of customer and for-sale vehicles, with a workshop that can handle up to six vehicles on ramps simultaneously.  However, the limited number of entry and exit doors for vehicles, numerous small rooms, and large mezzanine floor structures obstructing valuable space necessitated improvements in the property’s ergonomics.  This marked the beginning of the development process.

It required a full year of renovation for the business to develop the site to its current status, ready to welcome customers and their vehicles for everything from maintenance, servicing and MOT’s to full restorations.  The staff at Absolute VW were deeply involved in the development process, showcasing their adaptive skills and extensive knowledge to create the perfect workshop. Furthermore, additional developments are planned, including the completion of the front customer waiting room, which is expected to be finished, all being well, in 2025.
