We’re proud to offer this 1973 Volkswagen Beetle, an excellent example of a UK model with matching body, chassis, and engine numbers.
The Beetle belongs to one of our returning customers, who has now decided it’s time for someone else to cherish it as much as they have. Having visited us for various work over the past couple of years, we’ve proudly contributed to getting this Beetle setup for daily use.
It is finished in stunning Alaska Blue (L96B), a colour introduced to the Beetle’s palette for 1973 and 1974. At some point in its life, it underwent a full body respray. Currently the exterior only shows minor imperfections to the rear wings.
The exterior remains original, with the exception of an LED headlight bulb upgrade and front bumper spotlights, providing plenty of illumination down the road ahead.
Underneath, the chassis remains solid and benefits from undersealing, which we carried out in December 2024.
Inside, the car largely remains original, with black basket-weave seats, dark grey carpets, headlining, and door cards – all in excellent condition. It also benefits from a couple of tasteful upgrades, including a Kenwood head unit and a 330mm steering wheel. We’re also pleased to note that it has good interior heating, which is a welcome bonus during the colder months.
Power comes from its original 1300cc engine, which pulls the car along nicely, complemented by a front disc and caliper brake conversion we carried out to provide improved and positive stopping power.
