Huber the 100 day restoration project
Let us rewind to 2020, a year overshadowed by the challenges of the Covid pandemic that kept everyone on edge. However, at Absolute VW, our focus was directed towards a distinct endeavour that kept us fully engaged, the restoration project of a 1956 Volkswagen Type 2 Single Cab, complete with a stringent deadline of 100 days.
Spanning 100 days, slightly over three months, weekends included, this project presented a formidable challenge for the team at Absolute VW to accomplish. However, leveraging our extensive expertise in classic Volkswagens, we were confident in our ability to meet the timeline, contingent upon smooth execution of our plans.
The narrative of Huber the Volkswagen Type 2 single-cab was documented in VolksWorld Camper magazine, with our hard-earned efforts rewarded with the front-cover feature, which to many vehicle builders is a milestone to achieve. We take pride not only in this accomplishment of being one of our many front-cover magazine features but also in its recognition as a testament to one of the most significant challenges overcome by Absolute VW.

Once again, adhering to our stringent deadline, we seized the opportunity for a studio photoshoot—an aspiration long harbored by Absolute VW for a finished project, a compliment to the craftsmanship invested in creating Huber the Single-Cab. Collaborating with Ollie, a photographer at ollieeohmedia (Instagram @ollieeohmedia), and securing a whitewall studio in Buxton, we conducted a thorough photoshoot to produce a detailed set of images of Huber intended for commercial use, editorial purposes, and personal reflection on the journey of such a project.
